Navigation, Solar Power, Networks, Communication can all be daunting tasks as there are so many options for each. As a previous owner of a computer service company and doing computer hardware/software for the past 40+ years, getting acquainted with the Marine networks was a fairly quick process for me. Having installed solar power as well as gaining familiarity with many types boating electronics and software over the past year, offering these services to my dockmates has been greatly welcomed. I would never charge time for learning about your specific hardware/software.
